Conference Policies

Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisers,

It is our utmost pleasure to host you at the MUN for India conference. This document lists the most important conference policies, and it is strongly recommended that all participants read through the entirety of this document in a thorough manner prior to attending the event.

Language: The language for communication and debate is English, throughout the conference and all related events.

Dress Code: All participants may choose to wear their school uniform, western business attire, or formal traditional attire throughout the conference. Participants should ensure that they are dressed appropriately at all times.

Meals: MUN for India does not provide conference meals for participants, and it is recommended that they carry a packed, dry lunch, on both days. However, there will be a provision for participants to purchase lunch from the school canteen/cafeteria, at nominal costs. Tea/Coffee and snacks are provided for all participants. Drinking water is available throughout the conference.

Delegate Kits: In an effort to remain eco-friendly, MUN for India limits the number of printed resources offered to delegates. The delegate kits will include an ID card, country placard, and participation certificate, apart from a notepad and basic stationery. Delegates will not be provided with a printed copy of the background guides or the delegate handbook, and are recommended to carry a copy of the same if they so desire.

Electronic Items and Internet: Delegates may use a laptop or similar device in the committee, at all times. However, internet access is strictly banned at all times, and any delegate found using the internet will have to forfeit their participation.

Awards: MUN for India issues ‘Diplomacy Awards’, which are not ranked or graded in any manner. There will be a minimum of three and a maximum of five such awards for each committee. Award winners will receive a certificate for the same.

Transport: All participants must arrange their own travel/transport to the conference venue.

Faculty Advisers and/or Guardians: All delegates must be accompanied by a faculty adviser or guardian throughout the conference.
